17-year old dad of three dies in motorbike accident while attending funeral

A 17-year-old dad-of-three was killed after being hit by a motorbike during a funeral attended by 150 people.

Aaron Smith died in hospital after being struck by the bike in Murston, near Sittingbourne in Kent on Thursday morning.

The teenager suffered fatal head injuries, reports Kent Live.

Police say they were given “very little notice” of the funeral taking place and and shocked eye-witnesses described a helicopter ambulance landing near the scene.

One eye-witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “It looked as if someone had been hit by a motorbike.

“There were lots of bikes in the road. They have been going mad out here.”

Heartbroken friends and relatives have taken to social media to pay tribute to the dad-of-three who also leaves behind a wife.

Josh Stevenson wrote publicly on Facebook: “RIP Aaron Smith, such a harsh world we live in.

“So young and talented, can’t believe you are gone. Such a shock. Prayers go out to the family.

“You’re in a better place now mate. Such sad news.

“Rest easy friend, you’re in god’s hands now.”

Selsey Smith said: “RIP Aaron Smith. God only takes the best, may you get the best bed in heaven.

“Too good for this world but still so young. Heartbroken isn’t the word for any of this, I can’t imagine how your father’s feeling. May god comfort him in this time of devastation.

“Such a polite, handsome, comical boy. Not a bad word to say about you.

“Rest in peace, until we meet again my cuz.”

A GoFundMe page has been setup to raise money for Aaron’s family and more than £2,200 has already been donated.

The page says: “We are raising money for his family. He was taken too soon and left behind 3 babies and a loving wife, we need to do this in his memory.”
