The victims, who were all residents of the same village of Jimin, Darazo LGA, Bauchi state, were on their way to attend a weekly market day at Dukku town of Gombe state when the accident occurred.
The cause of the accident was not ascertained, but witnesses at the scene partially attributed it to the bad state of the road in Dukku town.
“It is a very bad sight as all of the traders lost their lives in the accident. As you can see, there are dead bodies scattered all over the place and no one is happy to be in this kind of situation” A witness said
Report has it that all the victims were family men. They leave behind their wives and children.
A mass burial was held for the deceased at the Darazo Cemetery in accordance with the Islamic injunctions.
