The UK Defence Ministry, on Thursday, revealed that Russia has suspended Lieutenant-General Serhiy Kisel for his failure to capture Kharkiv amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
It revealed this in a series of tweets via its Twitter handle while giving the latest situation in Ukraine.
Kisel commanded the elite 1st Guards Tank Army.
βIn recent weeks, Russia has fired senior commanders who are considered to have performed poorly during the opening stages of its invasion of Ukraine,β the UK Defence Ministry tweeted.
βLieutenant General Serhiy Kisel, who commanded the elite 1st Guards Tank Army, has been suspended for his failure to capture Kharkiv.
βA culture of cover-ups and scape-goating is probably prevalent within the Russian military and security system,β it added.
