The tragedy occurred amidst a prolonged and contentious divorce battle, which saw Erinne ordered to pay $15,000 in monthly child support to his ex-wife.
According to reports, Erinne had spent thousands of dollars in legal fees, only to lose custody of his child and face significant financial burdens.
The court’s verdict had severe consequences, including the revocation of his medical license and restricted access to his children.
A Nigerian-American, Clayton Udo, took to Facebook to express his outrage and sadness over the incident.
He highlighted the systemic issues within the US legal system, which he believes disproportionately affect African men.
