A Nigerian documentary photographer, Muhammad Bukar Umara, has alleged that many patients suffering from kidney disease, died at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, due to the poor care facilities.

“Poor kidney care facilities in the UMTH has killed more people than the kidney disease itself. Imagine a malfunctioning machine that stops at no distant intervals used for dialysis. And the nurses have to be called to fix it whenever it stops.”
