Tragedy struck at the Federal Univerity Of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, this morning, as at least four students died as a result of an accident involving a campus shuttle bus and a motorcycle.
The bus was said to have had a blowout and somersaulted, hitting a bike in the process. Two students allegedly died at the spot, while two others died at the school’s clinic.
Other injured victims are currently battling for their lives. The incident led to a massive protest on the campus and the university has since been shutdown by the management.
Some few days back, amagistrate of the Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, Banji Ayeomoni, alongside his son lost their lives in an tanker fire accident that happened along the Benin-Auchi Expressway in the Esan West Local Government Area of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria learnt that the incident also claimed the lives of his son, Dara, driver and another relation.
An official of the court, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the late Ayeomoni went to visit his children at Ekpoma, adding that while returning, his vehicle ran into the spillage which caused fire and affected some other vehicles.
