The Nigerian Army has announced the arrest of Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, a commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN), popularly known as Gentle de Yahoo
He was captured at his hideout in Aku-Ihube, Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, during a joint operation by the 34 Artillery Brigade and other security agencies.

In a statement, the Army confirmed the recovery of an English pistol, 120 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, a cartridge, six mobile phones, military and police uniforms, and a German flag.
Troops also discovered a workshop used for dismantling stolen vehicles and destroyed ten motorcycles found at the site.
In separate coordinated operations across Adamawa, Katsina, and Kogi States, troops rescued twelve kidnap victims — five in Madagali, five in Malumfashi, and two in Lokoja — as part of a broader mission to dismantle criminal networks.
The Army also highlighted a recent operation in Borno State, where operatives of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai neutralised eight fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and arrested others who sustained gunshot injuries.
The operation, which took place early Monday, followed an attempted ambush by insurgents along the Garin Giwa axis of the Baga–Cross Kauwa Main Supply Route.
“During the exchange of fire, eight ISWAP fighters were neutralised, including two Munzirs and one Qaid,” the statement read.
The military described these actions as part of its ongoing nationwide strategy to protect civilians, maintain security, and weaken terrorist and criminal networks.
