A 15-year-old boy has d!ed after a fake doctor performed gallstone surgery – using YouTube as guidance.
Krishna Kumar’s condition rapidly deteriorated after the bogus medic’s procedure – allegedly carried out without his parental consent – at a private clinic in Bihar, east India.
The sham doctor watched videos on his mobile phone to guide him through the bungled operation, it is said.
When Krishna, also known as Golu, visited the clinic with a stomach ache and vomiting on Friday, it was recommended he have surgery.
Local media says the family was advised the teenager was suffering from gallstones in his bladder, which can be extremely painful.
But the operation happened, allegedly when Golu’s dad had left the clinic to get petrol, and the boy passed away in an ambulance to hospital after the procedure.
Golu’s maternal grandfather said: “Puri sent Golu’s father to a local fuel station to fetch diesel. Meanwhile, he began the surgery without our consent while watching a video.”
The “medic” and other hospital staff vanished after the youngster d!ed, it is alleged.
Police are investigating the d3ath and want to trace the man who performed the surgery, who they’ve described as a “quack” – a term which derives from the 1800s amid cholera pandemics.
DSP Isha Gupta said: “We have launched an investigation into the death and are conducting raids to arrest the quack.” It is unclearwhere these raids have taken place.
