Manchester City suffered a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in their final game before the November international break.
Erling Haaland’s 23rd-minute opener, assisted by Mateo Kovacic’s precise pass, wasn’t enough.
City dominated the first half, with Savinho and Haaland testing goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. Brighton’s Danny Welbeck posed a threat, but City’s defense held strong.
In the second half, Brighton improved, and Ederson made crucial saves. Savinho and Haaland attempted to extend City’s lead, but Joao Pedro equalized (78′) and Matt O’Riley scored the winner (83′). Kevin De Bruyne’s late effort narrowly missed.
Despite six senior absences, City remain second in the Premier League. They face Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium in two weeks.
