Davido, the Nigerian music sensation, has expressed his love for Lagos, calling it a city that matches the vibes of New York and other major cities worldwide

In an interview with Apple Music, he praised Lagos for its fast-paced environment, diverse neighborhoods, and unique blend of chaos and beauty.
He noted that the cityβs vibe is essential to his music, and he often returns to Lagos to tap into the streets and find inspiration.
Davido also revealed that he prefers to listen to music and focus on his craft in Lagos, away from the distractions of being a superstar.
He mentioned that he often concentrates best on planes, but when it comes to recording and curating music, he loves being in Lagos, making it his go-to destination for creative expression.
βYeah, Lagos is like New York. Okay. Iβll say there are cities that Iβve been to and I can say New York is cool. I havenβt been to Tokyo, but somewhere like Tokyo. London, definitely Kingston. Kingston. Lagos is very, very fast-paced. The horns. The market. And everything is in Lagos. You have the parts in Lagos where it looks like Miami. You got the parts in Lagos where it looks like β¦ You know what Iβm saying? So everything is Lagos. That city is a whole country in one, kind of. And Iβll say this every time, if you can survive in Lagos, you can survive anywhere in the world,β he says.
βThe vibe in Lagos, musically for me, thatβs where I go back. And it is also called tapping in with the streets. We travel so much. We are touring. You know what Iβm saying? We never really get time to be at home. So every time I get home, Iβm so excited. Iβm like, βYeah!β,β he adds
βSo funny. I concentrate the most on a plane. I donβt join no wifi. I put my headphones in and I just go through records and I just really listen. Thatβs when Iβm really tapped out. Thatβs one place I really focus.
βYeah, I like that. But I definitely love when it comes to recording and curating records, I love being at home in Lagos. Even if I record in a studio out here or in Atlanta, or wherever the idea is from, I always bring it to Lagos,β he states.
