Differently-abled people on Twitter are tweeting the worst “compliments” they have received and most of them are just so insensitive.

 

Using the Twitter hashtag, #DisabledCompliments, the people living with a disability are highlighting how veiled insults are part of their reality.

 

The viral hashtag began when activist Imani Barbarin tweeted a “disabled compliment” she had received. Her tweets inspired thousands of other Twitter users to share their experiences.
