Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide and prominent Nigerian politician, has reportedly passed away at the age of 72.
Okupe was said to have d!ed on Friday morning after battling a prolonged illness, suspected to be cancer. According to sources close to the family, he had been critically ill in the weeks leading up to his d3ath.
In 2022, he was appointed as the Director-General of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign for the 2023 election. However, he later stepped down following a court conviction related to alleged money laundering.
Okupe’s death marks the loss of a significant figure in Nigerian politics.
