The situation is serious. Last year, the Congo had over 14,000 cases and more than 650 deaths from Monkey Pox. Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe, a famous virus expert, warns that the disease is spreading fast, even through sexual contact.

To fight this, the experts are teaming up. They promise to work together on tests, improving labs, and finding vaccines. Dr. Ngashi Ngongo from Africa CDC says they need to be ready to act fast and work closely with the communities affected.

The World Health Organization is also stepping in to help. They’ll boost surveillance, talk to people about the risks, and involve communities in the response.

Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, from WHO, says they’ll work with local, national, and global partners to tackle this problem head-on.

The clock is ticking, and the fight against Monkey Pox needs to be stronger. Health ministers from 12 African countries are teaming up to create a plan to fight Monkey Pox. This plan will focus on preventing the disease, finding it early, and stopping it from spreading. Their goal is to keep people safe and build a better future for everyone.
