Former US Vice President, Dick Cheney has passed away at the age of 84
Cheney served as the 46th vice president under Republican President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009
The family confirmed that Cheney d!ed from complications related to pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.
“For decades, Dick Cheney served our nation, including as White House Chief of Staff, Wyoming’s Congressman, Secretary of Defense, and Vice President of the United States,” the statement read.
Cheney, often regarded as one of the most powerful vice presidents in US history, was known for his behind-the-scenes influence and strategic political maneuvering. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 30, 1941, he spent most of his youth in Wyoming. He briefly attended Yale University before returning home to earn a degree in political science at the University of Wyoming.
