The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Monday, September 16th, 2024, will be a public holiday to commemorate the Eid-ul-Mawlid, which celebrates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the ministry, on Friday.
According to Daily Trust, the Minister extended congratulations to the Muslim community both within Nigeria and abroad on this occasion.
He encouraged Muslims and Nigerians in general to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.
Additionally, the Minister urged the Muslim community to utilize this period to offer prayers for lasting peace and a more prosperous and equitable nation.
