“A Corp member serving in Lagos State, narrowly escaped death, this morning, after being knocked down by a reckless Danfo driver.
The incident happened at Igbo Efon, Lekki Epe expressway. The victim, identified as Morenikeji, is currently receiving treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, while the driver is being held” The news read yesterday
She was subsequently rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, where she eventually died. The driver has since been arrested.
There have been many cases of corps members’ death of recent and they are mostly due to accidents.
Just some few weeks back about nine corps members died while having a picnic by the river side in Taraba State. The corps members were reportedly swept off by a rising wave when the river bank over-flowed.
They have since been buried in their various home towns.
The Director General of the NYSC Brig. Gen. Sule Zakari Kazaure has also ordered all corps members to desist from any indiscriminate travel during the service year.
