Edoardo Bove is in the hospital and has regained consciousness following a medical emergency that occurred during the match between Fiorentina and Inter, which has been called off.
The game was halted in the 17th minute after the midfielder collapsed on the field. Medical staff promptly attended to him and transported him to a waiting ambulance.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Bove was breathing on his own when taken to the ambulance and later regained consciousness at Careggi Hospital, located near the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
During the incident, players and staff formed a barrier to shield Bove as he received urgent medical attention. The match, part of Serie A’s Week 14 fixtures, was abandoned shortly after and will resume at a later date, starting from the 17th minute in accordance with league protocol.
The scene left both Fiorentina and Inter players visibly distraught, with many reduced to tears. Fans and teammates are now awaiting further updates on Bove’s condition, hoping for a swift recovery for the 22-year-old.
Bove, a product of Roma’s youth academy, joined Fiorentina on loan for €1.5 million, with an option to make the transfer permanent for an additional €10.5 million.
