A notorious Haitian gang has stormed a police station in the embattled country and slaughtered dozens of police officers, according to reports.

A Kenyan-led international force was deployed to the Caribbean nation in the shape of 400 police officers from the African nation. The group of officers was the first tranche of an international force, dubbed a “unique opportunity” to restore order by Haiti’s interim Prime Minister Garry Conille.
“I want no-one to doubt the purpose of the mission. The state will regain power and reaffirm its authority so all Haitians can live peacefully in this country,” he said late last month.
However, reports are now emerging that members of a gang led by the infamous warlord Jimmy ‘Barbecue’ Cherizier attacked a police station in Gressier, Port-au-Prince, and killed at least 20 officers.
The assault is believed to have begun on Sunday (June 30).
Haiti Libre said the attack was carried out by members of the ‘Vivre Ensemble’ gang coalition led by ‘Barbecue’. Other reports stated that the Bougoy Gang were involved.
