“I shared my story so others don’t become victims” — Businesswoman Bo Hair explains why she spoke out about former house help
Businesswoman Bo Hair has explained why she decided to publicly share her experience with her former house help, Lillian, amid ongoing allegations of r0bb£ry and other misconduct.
Bo said she came forward because she did not want another person to employ Lillian or anyone she claimed had previously been involved in similar incidents.
“I shared my story because I felt like if I don’t come out and say what happened, the next person is going to employ a Lillian,” she said.
She alleged that some domestic staff agents recycle workers from one household to another despite previous complaints, adding that she waited until the police case had progressed before speaking publicly.
Bo also recounted how Lillian, who replaced her cousin Amarachi, allegedly raised concerns shortly after resuming work by asking to start taking Bo’s son home from school by bus despite the family having a driver.
According to her, the incident raised concerns about her son’s safety, and she reported the matter to the school. She further alleged that Lillian later became hostile towards her son and that CCTV footage subsequently showed what she described as suspicious movements during the r0bb£ry at her home.
Bo said she believes she made a mistake by not dismissing Lillian when her initial concerns arose.
She also recounted an incident where she and her husband were invited to a meeting with Lillian and several others, which she said made her feel unsafe. Bo claimed she subsequently showed CCTV evidence to senior police officials and that efforts were made to locate Lillian for further investigation.
“I don’t want another person to be a victim to what I went through. Let me be your sacrificial lamb,” she said, adding that the experience has left her traumatised and struggling with sleep.
