A British woman is understood to have died in Indonesia after contracting coronavirus.
Indonesian authorities said the 53-year-old was the first recorded death from the virus in the country, which has 26 other confirmed cases.
A health ministry official said the woman had already been in a critical condition when she was admitted to hospital.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Indonesia and are in contact with local authorities. Our sympathies and thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”
