Actor Bryan Marshall has died aged 81.
The British star was best known for his role as Commander Talbot in James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
ECA agent Esta Charkham confirmed news of his death in a post shared on Twitter yesterday.
“So sad that my dear old chum Bryan Marshall has gone on ahead,” she wrote. “A wonderful actor – he was so good you never noticed how good he was.

Born in Battersea, London in 1938, he trained at RADA and performed at the Bristol Old Vic before landing a handful of film and TV gigs, including an appearance in the Michael Caine classic Alfie.
His Bond role followed in 1977, playing a submarine commander whose vessel was captured at the start of the film before being rescued by Roger Moore’s 007.
One of his biggest parts then came in the 1980 gangster film The Long Good Friday, which he starred in alongside Helen Mirren and Bob Hoskins.
His other screen credits included roles in British series such as The Avengers, The Bill and Dalziel and Pascoe.
He moved to Australia later in his career, where he appeared in hit soaps Neighbours and Home and Away and also hosted crime show Australia’s Most Wanted.
