Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were involved in a mid-air scare when a £40m private jet they were in was struck by lightning, it has been reported.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were flying to a party in Amsterdam last month when the hired Dassault Falcon 7X was hit, according to the Mail on Sunday.
A bolt of lightning is said to have struck the nose cone, narrowly avoiding the plane’s navigation equipment and sending 30million vaults through the fuselage.
Despite the scare the aircraft was able to land safely at Schiphol Airport.
Joining them were a celebrity crowd including actors Douglas Booth, Eddie Redmayne and Jenna Coleman, who was linked to Prince Harry before his marriage to Meghan.
Guests such as Michael McIntyre, Fran Cutler and Nick Grimshaw were promised a long weekend of “eating, drinking, napping, dancing, boats and bikes”.
Also on hand to mark the opening of the building were Lily Cole, Ella Eyre, Stanley Tucci and Richard Bacon, who spent days in a coma this summer after contracting pneumonia.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman declined to comment.
