The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has issued a statement denying plans to protest against fuel price hikes on September 15.

The statement, signed by NANS Senate President Afeez Akinteye, describes the information as “false” and “baseless.”
NANS dissociates itself from any plans to shut down cities, emphasizing its commitment to peaceful advocacy and constructive engagement.
The organization urges security agencies to investigate the source of the misinformation and hold those responsible accountable.
NANS reaffirms its mission to advocate for students’ rights and welfare through lawful and peaceful means, promoting peace, progress, and national unity.
