There is panic, confusion and tension in the Lebanese capital Beirut after another fire broke out in the port area of the Beirut city, a little more than a month after devastating explosion at the same sight that the 4th August massive explosion happened killing more than 200 people and leaving others with injuries.
Aljazeera: “Massive fire erupts in the Beirut sea port area sparking alarm among Lebanese still reeling from a deadly explosion that happened last month.”
According to the Lebanese army, fire erupted at a warehouse storing oils and tyres in the port’s duty free area. Several workers from the area also confirmed with the media that there had been a clearance exercise that was going on inside the warehouse to remove debris following last month’s massive explosion that left atleast 200 people dead. The exercise could have been the main cause of the fire outbreak.
Other reports as reported by Aljazeera media Company states that another fire had caught at Beirut’s port on Tuesday September 8 thus leading to more panic and unrest in the town.
