Panic As Soldiers Storm Rivers Community After Oil Spill. Photos

 

According to reports, residents have been gripped with fear following heavy military presence in Bodo community in Gokana Local Government Area of River state.

The militarization of the region is coming days after a fresh oil spill from installations owned by Shell took over portions of the community waters without any intervention leading to widespread protest in the community.

The military presence according to the villagers is as a result of the protest by the Bodo people against this fresh phase of environmental degradation.
