Police arrest 25-year-old robber in Ogun

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested one Ayomide Ibrahim for alleged burglary and theft

This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.

Ibrahim was said to have been arrested while stealing aluminium fittings on Thursday in the Baba Ode area of Iju in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state during the routine patrol of the security agency.

The 25-year-old was alleged to have told the So-Safe Corps operatives that he came from Abeokuta to join his accomplice in the area and that he was a member of a robbery gang that specialised in stealing from worship centres in the area.

The suspect was also alleged to have revealed that whatever his gang stole was sold at a shopping complex in Oshodi, Lagos State.

Items recovered from the suspect were said to have been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Onipaanu Divisional Police Headquarters, for further investigation and likely prosecution.
