The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended several suspects linked to the murder of Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old final-year student from the Kwara State College of Health Technology.
Mojisola’s body was discovered at a refuse dump in Ilorin on August 11, 2024.
A missing persons report was filed by Miss Blessing O. on August 13, 2024, after Mojisola went missing on August 9, 2024.
Mojisola was last heard from after receiving a phone call from Timileyin, who introduced her to Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student from Summit University.
Happiness had invited Mojisola to a night party, offering her #15,000.00 to pose as his girlfriend.
Upon arriving in Ilorin, Mojisola became uneasy and mentioned that the party did not seem to be taking place as promised. Her phone then went silent, and all attempts to reach her failed.
The police were alerted to the case on August 12, 2024, and detectives found traces of blood near the victim’s ear. The body was later identified as Mojisola’s at the General Hospital in Ilorin.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation.
Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya has pledged to uncover the facts surrounding Mojisola’s death and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
