The presence of services chiefs, the National Security Adviser and the Inspector-General of Police at the ongoing meeting of the National Economic Council at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa suggests that security may be top on the agenda of issues to be discussed.
Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the meeting, which has in attendance the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Turkur Buratai; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice-Marsall Sadiq Abubakar; the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Idris Abubakar; and the National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Mungono.
Governors of 12 states are also attending the meeting. They include; Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode; Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano; Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel; Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi; Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello and Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Others are Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari; Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai; Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu; Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru; Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong.
Among Deputy Governors attending the meeting are Cecilia Ezeilo of Enugu State, Benson Abounu of Benue State and Ude Oko Chukwu of Abia State.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun are also at the meeting.
