Seyi Awolowo, a reality TV star and grandson of the late Obafemi Awolowo, has opened up about his difficult childhood experiences in a polygamous family.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Seyi shared that his father disowned him multiple times, along with some of his siblings.
He described the complex family dynamics, revealing that his father kept detailed records on each child, reducing their identities to mere names on a list.
Seyi’s father had three wives, and he recalled receiving letters from him that cut ties with his children, leaving them feeling disconnected and reduced to mere names on a file.
“My dad disowned me a couple of times. Not just me, a couple of us,”
“My dad married more than one wife. He married three wives,”, he continued.
“We all have files. As of right now, your name is just Seyi, full stop,” he said.
