Sophie Turner has slammed the petition against the season 8 of the HBO hit seriesΒ Game of ThronesΒ which aired its episode finale two nights ago.
Before the episode finale aired, a petition was raised on Change.org by fans who felt the way the series was about to end was way below expectation. The petition has since garnered about a million signatures calling for the remake of the entire season 8.
Reacting to the petition, Sophie Turner who played Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones labeled it as disrespectful.
βPeople always have an idea in their heads of how they want a show to finish, and so when it doesnβt go to their liking, they start to speak up about it and rebel,β she said.
βThe thing about Game Of Thrones thatβs always been amazing is the fact that thereβs always been crazy twists and turns, right from season one with Nedβs beheading. So, Daenerys becoming something of the Mad Queen β it shouldnβt be such a negative thing for fans.
βItβs a shock for sure, but I think itβs just because it hasnβt gone their way.β
She continued: βAll of these petitions and things like that β I think itβs disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season.
βLike 50-something night shoots. So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because itβs not what they want to see is just disrespectful.β
