Gospel sensation Tim Godfrey has sparked widespread discussion online after unveiling his new single “Infinity,” featuring Afrobeats singer Oxlade
The track, released this week as part of Godfrey’s forthcoming 12-track album No Label, fuses uplifting gospel melodies with Oxlade’s signature Afrobeats and R&B rhythm, creating a sound that bridges two distinct musical worlds.
While many fans have applauded the collaboration for its bold creativity and genre-blending appeal, the partnership has also drawn mixed reactions from sections of Nigeria’s Christian community. Critics argue that Oxlade, known for secular chart-toppers like “Ku Lo Sa” and “Away,” should not appear on a gospel song.
Tim Godfrey, in a statement introducing the track, described Infinity as a “magnificent song” that reflects his mission to deliver faith-inspired music to a broader audience. The single follows Praise the Lord, another release from his upcoming album.
