Transgender in the US cries out as 3 were killed within 4 months

The transgender community in Jacksonville, Florida have raised an alarm
as they fear a serial killer is after them following the killing of three women who were murdered this year.

According to reports,  Celine Walker, 36, was found shot to death in an Extended Stay America hotel room on February 4 and her murder is still unsolved

Antash’a English, 38, was shot in the abdomen in a drive-by shooting between two vacant houses on June 1 and died in hospital

Then on Sunday, Cathalina Christina James, 24, was found dead at a Quality Inn and Suites, also shot to death, 10 miles from where Ms. Walker was found.

On June 8, a fourth transgender woman survived being shot multiple times but her case is considered a domestic assault and not connected to the others.

In a statement by transgender rights activist, Gina Duncan, she said: ‘The transgender community in Jacksonville is frightened. They fear this could be a serial killer or orchestrated violence targeting the community. They do not feel protected on their own streets.’

Paige Mahogany, the head of the Jacksonville Transgender Awareness Project, also told NBC News in a phone call: “The transgender community feels like there’s a target on their backs. We don’t feel safe in Jacksonville.”

According to Daily Mail, Jacksonville police were investigating the three murders as separate cases and there was nothing to indicate they were connected. (LIB)
