Is it OK to crash a wedding if you’re the president? The answer, it seems, is yes, with a bride, groom and their guests cheering as President Donald Trump popped in on their special day.
The president even gave the bride a kiss on the cheek as wedding guests applauded at the wedding, held Friday night at his Trump National Golf Course in New Jersey, TMZ reported.
It was not the first time Trump has crashed a wedding at one of his properties, with a discontinued brochure obtained by The New York Times showing the New Jersey club suggesting a Trump visit could be a highlight of a couple’s big day.
“If he is on-site for your big day, he will likely stop in & congratulate the happy couple. He may take some photos with you but we ask you and your guests to be respectful of his time & privacy,” the brochure read.
Footage of the drop-in obtained by TMZ shows the president stopping in to Gerald Papa and Jenna Buchholtz‘s wedding, and telling guests “you take care of them” as he gestures to the bride and groom.
One of the assembled guests shouted out “we love you,” as Trump prepared to leave, with the assembled crowd cheering as the president gave the bride a peck on the cheek before making his way upstairs at the property.
“Oh my god,” one guest can be heard saying as the president walks away.
According to The Hill, witnesses said that Trump landed at the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster in his Marine One helicopter before making a surprise appearance at the wedding, where he also took pictures with guests and, of course, posed for a couple of photos with the bride and groom.
