Renowned poet Ikeogu Oke, who last year won the 2017 Nigeria Prize for Literature for his book, The Heresiad, a book of epic poetry, has died.
Punch Newspaper reports that Oke, died in Abuja on Saturday night following an undisclosed ailment.
Oke won the 2017 Nigeria Prize for Literature for his book, The Heresiad, a collection of epic poetry and went ahead to gain accolades.
The 51-year-old was presented with a cheque of $100,000 (N37m) by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited.
