A Nigerian man, has reportedly killed his wife after pouring petrol on her and setting her ablaze following an argument.
It was gathered that the incident happened after the victim returned from her village where she was said to have traveled for her mother’s burial preparations.
According to a source, the woman simply identified as Ebere had travelled home to join her siblings for their late mother’s funeral arrangements.
She was however, said to have returned to her base in Lagos without the luggage she had traveled with, and it stirred up a heated argument between the couple.
According to the source, the husband confronted Ebere, inquiring to know why she returned without the luggage she traveled with, but she explained that she would be returning to the village soon for the burial proper. So there was no need bringing her luggage back to Lagos when she would be going back soon.
It was however learnt that her response and choice of words angered the husband, who allegedly poured petrol and set her on fire.
The source said the victim sustained severe burns and was rushed to the hospital where she later died while receiving treatment.
According to reports, the husband who also suffered burn injuries was admitted in the hospital.
