Zlatan Ibrahimovic has called Cristiano Ronaldo ‘s move to Juventus “bulls***”, saying it’s not a challenge in the slightest. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner secured an £88million switch to the Serie A champions last summer, ending his nine-season stay in Spain.
The 33-year-old has got off to a decent start so far in Italy, scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances.
Shortly after moving to Turin, Ronaldo claimed that his move to Juventus was a challenge – and called on Lionel Messi to make a similar leap.
“I’ve played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal and for my national team, while he’s still in Spain,” said Ronaldo.
“Maybe he needs me more. For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy.
“He’s a fantastic player and a good guy, but I don’t miss anything here. This is my new life and I’m happy.”
However, Ibrahimovich has now shut down Ronaldo’s claims and branded them as bulls***.
“Cristiano is talking about new challenges, he calls it a challenge to move to a club where it is already normal to win the Serie A,” the 37-year-old said, as per the Express.
“Why did he not choose a club from a second division a few years ago?” “Try to become a champion with such a second-division champion and lead them to the highest level, which is a challenge.
“It is bulls***, moving to Juventus is not a challenge at all.”
