2023 Christmas: Benue SUBEB Chairman Tasks Staff on Love

The Executive Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Grace Adagba, has charged staff of the board to celebrate Christmas in a Christian way and show love to one another.

Dr Adagba gave the charge Wednesday at the Board’s Headquarters, Makurdi during the 2023 Christmas Carol organised by the Christian Staff Fellowship, SUBEB on the theme: “Jesus The Messiah” with a scriptural text from Isiah 11:10.

The Chairman urged the staff to celebrate responsibly so as to reflect the character of Jesus Christ whose birthday they are celebrating.

Dr Adagba who assumed office last week as the new Executive Chairman of SUBEB solicited the staff to help with positive ideas that would enable the board work better in the interest of the Benue child.

Speaking earlier on the significance of the Carol, Chairperson of the SUBEB Christian Staff Fellowship, Mrs Juliana Agbo, who is also the Director of Administration and Supply said, it avails the staff an opportunity of listen to soul lifting songs about the birth of Jesus Christ, adding that the programme provides them the privilege of learning the gospel through songs as they mark the birth of the Messiah.

She commended the management of SUBEB under the leadership of Dr Grace Adagba for creating the enabling environment for the fellowship to host the 2023 Christmas Carol despite paucity of funds.

Guest speaker at the event, elder Joshua Osu, admonished the staff to be prepared and wait patiently for their Messiah who will come at the appointed time. He noted that accepting Jesus as a Messiah requires some sacrifices hence people should not celebrate the ordinary merrymaking and go on with their sins but remember the essence of the celebration which is the birth of Jesus Christ and follow him to be saved.

In separate goodwill messages, Chairman, Nigerian Civil Service Union, Benue SUBEB chapter, Comrade Hemen Atero, and Mrs Doris Eberezi who spoke for Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) appreciated the management of SUBEB for supporting the Christian Staff Fellowship to organize the 2023 Christmas Carol successfully.

Highlights of the Carol were Bible readings and renditions by various departments of the Board.
