Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. The Manchester United forward will be subject to further investigation.
Greater Manchester Police said: “A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation. ”
The 20-year-old was arrested on Sunday afternoon after serious allegations were made by a woman.
On Tuesday it was announced Greenwood was under further arrest on suspicion of threats to kill and s3xual assault.
GMP has confirmed the victim is being offered specialist support.
