Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was seen today, July 10, 2025, serving food to guests at a public event
In widely shared photos, Obi is captured carrying trays filled with plates of jollof rice, fried rice, and meat. Dressed in a simple black native outfit, he moved from table to table handing out meals to attendees, including elderly women.
The event, held under a large decorated canopy, appeared to be a community gathering attended by a diverse crowd.
Obi’s gesture has triggered a wave of reactions online. Supporters praised the move as another example of his humility and people-centered approach. Critics, however, described it as a calculated political stunt.
“He’s the only politician who makes humility look genuine,” one user posted. Another wrote, “This is nothing but theatrics. Nigerians deserve substance, not optics.”
