Grief has engulfed residents of Kyanguu village in Matiliku, Nzaui Sub County, Kenya after a ten-year-old girl committed suicide.
Police said that the minor’s body was found dangling from a tree by her mother at their homestead on Friday at around 4.30 pm with a rope around her neck.
“The mother found the girl after she had just hanged herself and attempts to save her failed,” said Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan said.
He said the body was taken to Kilome Nursing Home mortuary.
“The police visited the scene and removed the body that had neck injuries. The case is under investigation,” said the police commander.
