Nigeria’s record holder in the women’s Javelin, Kelechi Nwanaga proved her mettle by convincingly winning the gold medal in the women’s javelin event at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship in Asaba, Delta state.
She did a winning throw of 56.96 metres to finish first ahead of South Africa’s Jo-Ane Van Dyk who threw 53.72 metres; the bronze went to Uganda’s Josephine LaLaw who came third with 51.33 metres.
