BREAKING: At least 8 security personnel have been killed in a bandit ambush on a police convoy in Zamfara State.
The dead reportedly include five police officers and three members of the Zamfara Community Protection Guard.
The attack occurred near Gidan-Giye village in Tsafe LGA.
Police say five officers’ bodies were recovered, seven personnel were rescued alive and two wounded officers were taken to hospital. Five service rifles were also stolen.
There are reports that some personnel may have been abducted, but the number of missing officers has not been officially confirmed.
