An Oyo State High Court has cleared the way for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to hold its national convention in Ibadan on November 15 and 16, 2025
Justice A.L. Akintola delivered the ruling on Monday following an ex parte application by Folahan Malomo Adelabi.

In the suit, Adelabi listed the PDP, its National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants.
He sought an interim injunction to prevent any actions that could “truncate, frustrate, or disrupt” the guidelines, timetable, and schedule of activities for the planned convention.
The court granted the application, effectively mandating the PDP leadership to adhere to the approved timetable and procedures for electing new national officers, allowing the convention to proceed as scheduled.
