Activist, Yemi Adamolekun, Executive Director of Enough is Enough Nigeria, was reportedly harassed by security operatives at Lekki Toll Gate on Monday while attempting to lay flowers in memory of victims of the 2020 EndSARS protest
EiE Nigeria shared the incident on X, stating, “While peacefully laying a wreath in remembrance of the #LekkiMassacre, #_yemia was harassed by overzealous security agents. Even in honouring the dead, citizens are intimidated. She’s fine — but this abuse of power is not.”

Human rights campaigner Deji Adeyanju also condemned the harassment, posting on X, “I condemn the harassment of notable human rights activist Yemi Adamolekun of #EiENigeria by security agents who have no respect or regard for human rights in Nigeria.”
The EndSARS movement, which erupted in October 2020, protested police brutality, particularly by the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad. Its peak came on October 20, 2020, when security forces allegedly opened fire on demonstrators at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Monday’s incident occurred amid ongoing commemorations of the protest’s anniversary, as activists continue to demand justice for the victims and accountability from security agencies.
