Hassan Taiwo Soweto, Youth Rights Campaign spokesperson, and 17 #EndBadGovernance movement members were arrested by Lagos police at Lekki Tollgate during a protest commemorating the #EndSARS victims.

The peaceful protest, held on Sunday, turned violent after police intervention with tear gas.
Arrested protesters include Remilekun Orunsolu, Olamide Thomas, Micheal Adedeji, Adeseye Eshe, and Olamilekan Sanusi. Their current location remains unknown.
A source revealed to SaharaReporters that police crackdown led to the arrests, stating, “Our comrades were arrested after police tear-gassed our protest.”
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore condemned the arrests on X (formerly Twitter), demanding immediate release and criticizing the government’s protest suppression.
Sowore tweeted, “The most senseless police force in the world. Why attack peaceful protesters? Did Nigeria Police think brute force saves Buhari, Tinubu, and @jidesanwoolu from Lekki Toll Gate massacre accountability? NEVER!!! #RevolutionNow.”
