Security personnel thwarted an ass3ssination attempt on Henry Okojie, federal lawmaker representing Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in Edo State.
According to Punch, Okojie’s media aide, Michael Ihaza, confirmed the incident in a statement, revealing:
– Gunmen in a Lexus GX 470 with Rivers State registration number PHC 253 FF attacked Okojie’s residence.
– The assailants disguised as police officers, claiming an appointment.
– Security personnel intervened, prompting two suspects to flee.
– Two suspects, including the driver, are being interrogated by the Nigeria Police Force, Uromi.
The suspects allegedly confessed to being sent by PDP leaders in Esan North East Local Government Area.
Edo State Police Command has not commented on the incident.
