Olusegun Dada, Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, has addressed the recurring presence of Papa Ajasco, at Lagos airport during the president’s festive visits.

For years, the actor’s appearances at these events have had Nigerians curious, with many questioning his prominent role in the ceremonies.
On Wednesday, as President Tinubu returned to Lagos ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the familiar scene played out again.
A video shared by Dada captured the president’s arrival, marked by cultural displays and the ever-present figure of Papa Ajasco at the forefront.
Responding to a query from an observer, Dada clarified the actor’s role, explaining that Ayoyinka leads the cultural troupe tasked with offering a warm, symbolic welcome to the president during his festive visits to Lagos.
In Dada’s words:
“I’ve seen this question pop up in my comments a lot. For context, Papa Ajasco is in charge of the cultural troupe that welcomes Mr. President whenever he is in Lagos. Hope this helps.”
