Tinubu’s policies will eventually pay us – Lagos CAN pleads with Nigerians

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Reverend Stephen Adegbite, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu's policies will eventually pay us! Lagos CAN pleads with Nigerians

The CAN chairman’s advice is coming amid the austerity plaguing the nation.

Adegbite, during a press briefing on Monday in Ikeja, Lagos, said the association recognised the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu to deliver and restore good times to Lagosians.

Adegbite said, “No doubt, these are desperate and challenging times. Change is never an easy process neither does it come without some cost. But I know that Nigerians will smile very soon. The economic policies of this government, especially at the federal level, will begin to improve the lives of the citizens and the narratives will be a positive one in the shortest possible of time.

“Yes, we are sowing in tears at the moment, our time to reap in joy is just around the bend. Our painful perseverance will surely be rewarded in full with a better and quality living.”

He saluted the efforts of Governor Sanwo-Olu “for the giant strides being witnessed in the state,” adding “It is not surprising that he was handed a second term by the people of Lagos State.”

The harsh economic situation in the country has been taking a toll on Nigerians, especially since the removal of fuel subsidy by Tinubu upon his swearing on May 29, 2023, which saw the petrol pump prices skyrocket from around N200 to over N600.

Also, the persistent fall of the naira against the dollar has brought about an attendant inflation on the cost of living for many Nigerians.
