Veteran Actress Chioma Chukwuka Loses Dad

Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha is grieving the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, whom she described as a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.
The actress announced his passing in an emotional message shared on Instagram, revealing that the loss has left her facing life without either of her parents. Her mother died 13 years ago, making the death of her father an especially painful chapter for the actress and her family.
Chukwuka fondly remembered her father as “my daddy, papa’m, obara’m, my comfort” and expressed gratitude for the long life he lived and the opportunity he had to witness his children and grandchildren. She also revealed that the family had hoped he would live long enough to meet his great-grandchildren.
Reflecting on the experience of losing a parent, the actress noted that, regardless of how many years people spend with their parents, there is always a longing for more time—another conversation, another embrace or simply another day together.
Chukwuka said she deliberately kept the news private for some time because she needed to process her grief and come to terms with the reality of her father’s passing.
As she and her siblings mourn, the actress appealed to friends, fans and well-wishers to keep the Chukwuka family in their prayers during the difficult period.
She added that details concerning her father’s funeral would be made public by the family at the appropriate time.
