A high school teacher was arrested Friday after officials said had a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student.
Jessica R. Gaeckle, 30, of Galloway Township, was charged with two counts of official misconduct and hindering apprehension, a release from the Atlantic County Prosecutorβs Office said.
Gaeckle, a teacher at Pleasantville High School in New Jersey, USA, had sex with the student on βat least two occasionsβ and asked them to destroy evidence once she learned that a criminal investigation had been launched, prosecutors said.
Public records show that Gaeckle is an English as a secondary language teacher at the school and earns a salary of $53,941.
Gaeckle was processed at the Atlantic County Prosecutorβs Office and and released on a summons, according to the release.
